Hi, my name is Hugo Espinosa, I'm a 3D Generalist specializing in creating stylized characters and props for video games.
Since graduating in 2008 with a degree in Digital Animation from the Professional Institute of Art Arcos in Santiago, Chile, I've gained hands-on experience as a freelance artist, working with indie video game companies to optimize models for both mobile and PC platforms. I'm also proud to have spent 12 years as a professor of 3D modeling and animation at a prestigious art institute in Chile.
Throughout my career I've navigated the entire pipeline, from creating characters with concept art to delivering assets within the game engine, covering sculpting, retopology, texturing, rigging, and animation.
I'm currently broadening my skills by learning Unreal Engine, to become a technical artist over time, while continuing my journey as a 3D generalist.

As part of the development team for the Tetris franchise video game, I am responsible for creating 3D assets, optimizing production to meet project goals. One of my key achievements has been significantly reducing delivery times for 3D elements for the UI/UX team, enhancing workflow efficiency. I also collaborate with the concept art team, contributing ideas and designs that have elevated the visual quality of the game’s graphics. Additionally, I have deepened my expertise in lighting and material design, strengthening the brand’s visual identity.
At HuesGames, I created over 115 3D assets in five months, including environmental elements, vehicles, and texturing, streamlining the production pipeline. My quick adaptation to the project’s art style enabled me to contribute innovative ideas, enhancing the visual quality and supporting team goals.
I specialize in creating detailed 3D character models for VRChat, animation, video games, and 3D printing. Additionally, I provide character concept art and illustrations, transforming ideas into both 2D and 3D assets, fully optimized for real-time applications and 3D printing.
I transform 2D art concepts into detailed 3D models and ensure their seamless integration into the Unreal Engine for optimal functionality.
